Recently, a batch of GRP tanks (fiberglass reinforced plastic tanks) meticulously customized for Veolia has successfully completed all production processes. They will soon undergo rigorous quality testing and precision packaging before being shipped overseas to the customer.This batch of completed and shipped products consists of tanks for high-performance backwash filters. As a core component in water treatment and industrial filtration systems, backwash tanks have extremely high requirements for material corrosion resistance, pressure resistance, and service life.
Hebei Jiarui employed advanced computer-controlled winding technology to ensure the precision and stability of the tank structure. Glass fiber reinforced plastic (GRP) itself possesses lightweight and high strength characteristics, with a specific strength even superior to steel. During the manufacturing process, the technical team optimized the resin-to-glass fiber ratio specifically for backwashing conditions, resulting in a smooth and dense inner wall of the tank. This not only effectively prevents bacterial growth from residual media but also provides long-term resistance to acid, alkali, and chemical solvent corrosion.
At the project's production summary meeting, the workshop manager stated, "These GRP tanks feature a double-layer structure and an ultraviolet-resistant outer protective layer, enabling them to adapt to various complex outdoor installation environments. Compared to traditional metal tanks, GRP materials eliminate the need for complex cathodic protection or frequent anti-corrosion coating maintenance, significantly reducing long-term operating costs for customers."
In fact, with the widespread adoption of composite material technology, more and more companies are choosing to switch from traditional steel to GRP materials. This is primarily due to the superior weather resistance and design life of GRP tanks, exceeding 20 years. In backwashing applications, the tanks frequently withstand pressure fluctuations and water hammer effects. Hebei Jiarui, through precise mechanical structural calculations, ensures that every tank leaving the factory possesses excellent fatigue resistance and dynamic load-bearing capacity.
Quality is the lifeline of the company. Before packaging, the quality inspection team conducts a final "check-up" on all tanks. The inspection process includes visual inspection, dimensional accuracy verification, and, crucially, pressure testing. Professional testing equipment ensures that each tank operates without leakage or deformation under its rated working pressure.
The flatness and smoothness of GRP tanks are key indicators of manufacturing quality. On-site measurements showed that the delivered tanks had a uniform gloss on the outer surface, and the flatness of the flange connection surfaces fully met industry standards. This not only ensured the sealing of subsequent pipeline installations but also made the overall equipment appear more aesthetically pleasing on-site.
Considering the long-distance sea transport and the variable climate in some of the transit areas, the Hebei Jiarui Logistics team developed a customized packaging plan. For precision interfaces and flanges, shock-absorbing foam and protective covers were used for double protection to prevent collision damage; the tank body was first wrapped with stretch film for moisture protection, and then reinforced with custom-made iron frames or wooden crates according to the dimensions.
With the completion of this batch of high-quality backwash tanks, Hebei Jiarui once again demonstrated its customization capabilities in the field of composite material storage tanks and pressure vessels. Currently, the factory's second-quarter production schedule is full, and it will continue to rely on technological innovation to provide more reliable GRP solutions for the global water treatment, chemical, and environmental protection industries.
