High resistance
GRP pipes are durable and resistant to corrosion. They are manufactured from composite material glass fiber and polyester resin which prevents them from rusting. They are also resistant to chemical, water, oil, gases, heat, UV rays and extreme environmental conditions. You need no additional galvanisation or cathodic protection for repairing and maintenance. GRP are resistant to hydrocarbon fluids, helping in construction in the oil and glass industry.

 

Lightweight and great strength
GRP pipes come with a hoop tensile strength of 300-375 MPA, as compared to PVC pipes. Constructions require no heavy machinery along with no need of bonding agents, bolting or welding. They have a great mechanical strength and can withstand light to moderate pressure.

 

Surge pressure
GRP pipes are generally manufactured between the ranges of 6 meters to 12 meters. The high stiffness and high compressive load capacity of GRP pipes prevent the bursting of pipes due to water pressure. They come with a lesser wall thickness makes it easier to bury them using routine methods with easy handling of deep covers.

 

Hydraulic efficiency
GRP pipes have a smooth internal surface which gives those excellent hydraulic characteristics and high flow capacity and low friction. They also work well for excellent pumping thus saving electricity. They are also low on thermal and electrical conductivity due to no external insulation of pipes.

 

Types of GRP Piping

Fiberglass flange
Fiberglass flange is a flange connector made of glass fiber reinforced material. It is commonly used for the connection and sealing of pipelines or with containers and vessel equipment. It is the most widely used detachable connection part in pipelines and vessels.

 

FRP process pipe
FRPprocess pipe is a pipe made of glass fiber and polymer resin materials. It has the advantages of easy installation, smooth inner surface, high circulation capacity, good heat resistance and corrosion resistance. Because of its smooth inner wall and small fluid delivery head loss, smaller pipe diameters or smaller power delivery pumps can be selected for long-distance delivery of the same flow rate.

 

RPM pipe
RPM pipe is fiberglass pipe with mortar layer. Also a frp pipe composed of inner lining layer, structural layer and outer protective layer. The inner lining layer is same as normal frp layer, which effectively enhances the corrosion resistance. The structural layer is composed of glass fiber layer and mortar layer all impregnated with resin, which provides the strength and rigidity of the pipe.

Fiberglass marine exhaust pipe

Fiberglass marine pipe is a special pipe used in shipbuilding system. It is a new type of pipe made of glass fiber and resin through filament winding process. Frp pipe each layer needs to be designed according to the working condition to meet the requirements in actual use.

FRP insulation pipe

FRP insulation pipe, is fiberglass reinforced thermosetting plastic pipe with insulation layer. It is mainly composed of three parts. The inner grp pipe, middle PU insulation layer and outer grp shell pipe. It is an insulated frp pipe. With its excellent performance for corrosion resistance and keeping heat, it is suitable for transport hot water or other medium with temperature.

GRP elbow

GRP elbows, tees and reducers are all pipe connection components, all made of a new composite material. Frp full name is fiberglass reinforced plastic.

Sewage and sewage supply

FRP pipes are ideal for transporting corrosive wastewater and sewage. The smooth inner surface of frp pipes eases the flow of any type of fluid. The corrosion resistance of the pipe is also very important in this type of application. Lightweight, long lengths, high stiffness and easy installation are all important factors in choosing frp pipes for applications such as alum and ferric chloride.

Q: What is grp in piping?

A: Glass reinforced plastic (grp) pipes. G.R.P or reinforced plastic morter (rpm) pipes are widely used in other countries where corrosion resistant pipes are required at reasonable costs. Grp can used as a lining material for conventional pipes which are subject to corrosion.

Q: How to join grp pipe?

A: Grp pipes are typically joined by using grp double-bell couplings. Pipes and couplings can be delivered to site seperately or pipes can be delivered as one-end coupling mounted. Elastomeric gaskets are used on grp couplings for sealing. Gaskets are placed in precision-machined grooves in each end of the coupling.

Q: Where are grp pipes used?
